Beyond the Stars:
Ultra-Rich Jet Environmental Cost
Beyond the Stars: Ultra-Rich Jet Environmental Cost is a self-initiated project was inspired by the article "Private jets are increasingly replacing car trips—for the ultra-wealthy" from National Geographic by Olivia Ferrari.
Developed independently, it explores the environmental impact of private jet use, reflecting on the article’s insight that "the ultra-rich are flying more on private jets, some emitting more carbon per hour than an average person does in a year."
Through this piece, I aimed to highlight the self-centered behavior of the super-rich, symbolizing their disregard for the environment, as they behave like stars greater than the stars of the universe, contributing to the rising pollution caused by their actions.
The initial sketches for this project were created digitally in Procreate on iPad.
After the sketches, I did some value and color studies.
Finally, I did the rendering and final adjustments digitally to complete the illustration.
This artwork was selected by @AdobeLive on Instagram to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Photoshop, featured alongside other artists in a carousel post (February 20, 2025).
